What do you do when you have things on your mind to sort out ? I organize stuff or clean . . .?
I'll go organize some drawers...clean closets...sweep the pathways . . . really just generally try to keep myself busy while my mind is racing about something that might be heavy on my mind at that time. I'm thinking and sorting through ' issues ' while cleaning... What do you do ? . So...I'm not the only one ?. :~) . . . Cool. . Today, I cleaned out my shed and washed two large sliding glass doors. Then my friend called me to go shopping...and off I went. And...my shed is organized and my windows clean...feeling better. . " Allman ". . . so you clean too. Seems allot of us do that. I know what is on my mind...my 17 yr. old made choice this past December to to live with her dad more...It's important to me to keep siblings together...so both my son (14 ) and his sis are with their dad more. I miss them very much...have been adjusting to all this and my never before experiened more time for myself. I'm doing fine...just missing my kids. .

- I clean and if there is nothing to clean I cook...not a good thing when you other stuff on your mind I normally end up burning it !
- I sleep, and sleep in. when you sleep in, you tend to remember your dreams more, and those dreams usually give you a lot of answers
- I Write What I'm Thinking.Or Type It Out.Sometimes I Go Out For A Run.
- Sometimes I clean, but id its something really important, or needs my full attention right away, I will meditate on it.
- I get on Y/A and just kinda go on "automatic" while my mind is chewing on the issue or problem at hand. I find after about one session of four hours or two sessions of eight hours I feel a lot better about my problems and I have come up with a way to handle it. Plus I get some points. lol
- In my experience the answer is always there... sometimes it takes more information but that information is typically on its way if not already available. You just have to be aware of what is going on. The act of cleaning etc is simply one way of distracting yourself from yourself long enough for the mind to come to rest, allowing you to become aware of the answer. Really the question is, do we create our problems so we can get the cleaning done? Or is it because we need the cleaning to be done that we can't help but create the problems. :-) Thanks that was a good one! I clean too! :-)
- I agree with Allman on this though it can be hard to see it that way sometimes. ;*) Peace sweetie!
- I think and think and think and think until i sort it out
- I stay quiet and meditate saying. " O God! Refresh and gladden my spirit. Purify my heart. Illumine my powers. I lay all my affairs in Thy hand. Thou art my Guide and my Refuge. I will no longer be sorrowful and grieved; I will be a happy and joyful being. O God! I will no longer be full of anxiety, nor will I let trouble harass me. I will not dwell on the unpleasant things of life. O God! Thou art more friend to me than I am to myself. " ..
- I sort them by priorities, & focus on one & set about resolving it. Operative word: FOCUS. I realized I was often trying to accomplish one thing, with all the others spinning in my head, & I'd actually say it out loud--FOCUS. If the "sorting" has to do with decisions, relationships (not tasks) there's a dimension of me that goes into "retreat" totally separate from thinking, (hard to explain), & almost always clarifies. At times, "tasks" can be so overwhelming & equal in priority; then I simply put everything out of my mind & go for a walk at the lake, listen to the birds, smell new cut grass, or grass after a rain, or I spend some quiet time grooming my plants or combing my cat<her purr is very calming! That sort of thing totally refreshes me. One cannot be "productive" ALL of the time!
