- Mothballs.
- put cedar balls in the closet- on the floor and hung in sachet bags. they repel moths. works like a moth ball but is a natural approach that is not detrimental to your health or clothing. if you are bagging the clothes, put the cedar balls in the bags, as well. you can find them in the same area of stores as moth balls and other closet maintenance products.
- The caterpillars will crawl away from the food source to pupate. You need to thoroughly clean all the corners and under shelves. The will get under flabs of unopened boxes of products in the pantry, so would imagine if they are in a closet there would be countless places for them to be pupating, then again show up a couple of weeks later looking to contaminate other foods. You might place a couple of pheromone traps around, one to help catch the moths that may show up in the next couple of weeks and two, if there is another source nearby they monitors will fill up quickly with the moths. No chemicals are needed, mothballs included for they will be brought into the house inside products you have bought from the store.
