Bathroom Guide

I want to change the bathroom faucets and knob thing etc...how hard is this to do?

We just got a new house and the faucets and knob/handles are old and we want to buy new ones and change them out... We have no idea how to though haha. Is it a difficult thing to just change the tub/shower "hardware"? We dont want to do anything to plumbing inside the wall...just change the outside parts to look better.... Any help is appreciated! We also want to change the shower head...but we've done that before... AND we want to change the faucet in the kitchen as well...how hard is it to do that?

  1. Not hard at all! Be sure to turn the water off under the sink. Open the faucet to bled off the pressure. If you need to, turn the main water valve off as well. You may need a plumbers faucet wrench, kinda looks like a long bar or rod with a handle at one end and a clamping jaw at the other. This is to unscrew to attaching fittings on the bottom of the faucet,(under the sink). Also you will need a channel lock plier to unscrew the fitting on the water line. Lift the faucet off the sink, clean the area thoroughly, and put the new faucet back in the sink. I like to attach new flexible extensions onto the faucet first before installing it on the sink. Tighten everything to the point that it doesn't move and turn the water back on and check for leaks. Presto! Your done!
  2. Pretty easy as stated above, but here is a video from Askthebuilder Tim Carter, he shows an easy way of doing it. http://www.5min.com/Video/How-to-Install-a-Kitchen-Faucet-62008026
