Whats wrong with me?
I understand everyones body reacts differently to different drugs. But I wanted to share my experience and see if anyone has ever experienced this themselves. About the beginning of 2004, I started depovera, the birth control shot. After a couple of years of taking depo and gaining 60+ lbs., I went off of it, 11 months ago to loose some weight. So lets see about March of 2006 the doctor told me that it would take probably about 3 to 6 months to be "regular" again. So 4 months passed 6, 8 ,10 then finally sunday I get cramps. So since I hadnt had a period in almost 3 years I was shocked how painful it was. I just wasn't used to it at all anymore. Anyways I was a heavy bleeder to begin with but I have never EVER experienced anything like this. Waking up with it literally running down my legs as Im running to the bathroom. Changing my tampon AND pad every hour on the hour. And we arent talking about just a little bit of blood either the tampon and pad are both soaked when I change them. I am talking like a faucet between my legs. Now that I have grossed everyone out LOL sorry. Im just concerned with how long it would last and at what time would I need to go to the doctor if I keep bleeding like this with no signs of letting up its now tuesday Im going on the third day of straight down-pour. I'm so grossed out myself. I have also gained 60 lbs. since! Sorry to the guy who stumbled on here! Should I be in pain from the blood loss? Aside from what I consider normal cramping not really in any pain maybe a slight headache coming on.

- Go get checked out today, at the very least you are anemic from the blood loss. You are having what is called menorrhagia, or vaginal hemorrhage during a menstrual cycle. You may need to get yourself a pelvic scan or ultrasound to make sure that everything is okay. Three days of saturated pads and tampons is too much.
- Oh my GOD! What the hell? I wanted to help you when I saw the headline and clicked the link, I honestly did, but now I cannot stop crying! Please warn us next time!
- well if you think about it you have not had a period for many months. if you are still bleeding like that in about a week i would contact your doctor. I bleed like that every month.....so just give your body a little more time.
- Go see your doc straight away. This is not normal. Have you tried the contraceptive implant? Ive found it very effective and it did not make a difference to my weight like the pill did
- You should see your doctor todqay if possible, you may need a d&c to help clean you out, or you may need something to help you slow down the bleeding. On a good note, I had this happen exactly as you described more than 12 years ago.... and then very shortly after (within weeks) I fell pregnant with my first son...while on birth control... I have trouble becoming pregnant, and took 8 years between him and my second child. So after this is over, if you aren't wanting to become pregnant, use condoms...lol Good Luck! ps, I HATED Depo, I gained 60 lbs on it, and never got rid of it.... :( You could be in pain for a couple of reasons, shedding a lining that thick cramps, also could be a cyst on your ovaries rupturing... ouch, (doc will also check to see if you are having a miscarriage, just to make sure) Either way, you can get Toxic shock syndrome from your own body due to the amount of ick in there. Do go see your doc though, I know it ain't fun, but it'll help.
- I was on depovera and gained about 60 lbs and after 9 months decided to get off of it. It took me 12 months to start my period again. Then it was very heavy. It suprised me too. I didn't get them to lighten up until I started another form of birth control. I have ended up getting an IUD -- my periods are light and very effective in preventing pregnancy.
