- start with the bottom, take evrything out into a keep pile and a trash pile work your way to the top
- You simply get two giant trash bags, have one for giveaway/sell/trash and one for keep. Just start doing one item at a time instead of trying to do it all at once. Once you've sorted the good from the bad clothes, organize the items by type on shelves/drawers/hangers etc.
- Don't be too attached. Some items will obviously have sentimental value and some have a better chance of being used again at some point in the future. If you are too attached to your possessions, most of the items you thought you might use again some day will still be there (or in another closet) when you do this again ten years from now. Give the things that are still usable to a charity like Goodwill, don't put them in a landfill.

- Step1 Tidy up your bedroom each day by doing the small things. Bring out any cups, wrappers or food left in your bedroom from the previous night to the kitchen or trash. Step2 Fold down your sheets and blankets each morning to air out the room. Spray some deodorizer or fresh smelling spray to keep your room smelling nice. Step3 Make your bed before you head off to school or work. You will feel much better when you arrive home to a clean bedroom. Step4 Vacuum or sweep your room every day or every other day to avoid too much floating dust which can cause allergies. Step5 Dust your bedroom once a week to have a pleasant room that is easy to breathe in. Dusting under the bed is also important. Remove all pet hair that is under the bed as well. Step6 Organize your room by sectioning off areas. Make one area only for clothes, another section for shoes, and another for work or school materials and supplies. Buying wicker baskets or shelving units can help de-clutter your bedroom living space. Step7 Deep clean your bedroom once a month. Flip your mattress once a month and clean all linens including your curtains. Mop the floor or steam clean your carpets to keep the floors looking new and polished. ___________________ Things You’ll Need: Garbage bags Baskets Shoe racks Hangers Step1 Sort through all items in your closet and eliminate any clothes or accessories that have not been worn within the past year. Chances are that if you've made it this long without it, it is either hopelessly out of fashion or no longer fits. Do not hang on to old clothes that are too small in hopes of some day wearing them again. Step2 Buy equipment that keeps things organized and off the closet floor. Great examples include double rods, baskets, hooks and high quality hangers. They all work to improve the appearance of spaciousness and organization even if there is very little room in your closet. Step3 Get the shoes off the floor. Use over-the-door racks or hanging shoe rods to keep the floors looking nice and uncluttered, and to provide an organized appearance to the entire closet. Step4 Arrange clothes and accessories in your closet according to your needs. If you are in a hurry in the mornings to get dressed in career clothing, then place those clothes near the front of the closet. Keep all items in the closet organized in appropriate locations. _____________________ Hang up clothes right away. Take the few minutes required to put everything in its proper place immediately each day and prevent clutter from piling up--clutter that often ends up on closet floors.
