I have a piece of paper towel lodged in the copper water line to my bathroom toilet. Will it degrade by itself
I changed the pressure regulator in my home water system. While sweating new copper fittings, I shoved a piece of paper towel in the copper tubing above where I was working tokeep water from dripping. The whole operation went well until I forgot to remove the piece of paper towel when I reassembled everything. When I turned the water on, it must have shot up to my bedroom bathroom as I had no water to the sink faucet or toilet. The water to the sink came on a few hours later but the toilet water is still jammed. Do you think the paper will work itself out or do I need to go in the line with some type of rooter or any other suggestions?

- It should degrade over time, but you may want to try some kind of accelerator, like Drano or better yet Liquid Fire that you can find at any ACE Hardware or similar store.
- it will take a while to degrade by itself.if you know where the problem is it would be easier to try to take it out by hand.that is not something you want sitting in your pipes.
- could take awhile to 'rot' out. You may have to disassemble from the other end near the toilet that is still clogged and undo another point back near the point of water intake and flush it backwards. OF course the main water will have to be turned off so you will be workng with a 'dry pipe' section to flush the paper forward or backward. Good luck.
- Do not use any chemical !!!! Try taking it out with a wire if you can get to it. Next time plug the drip with white bread...not the crust
- Its probably stuck in the valve. take the valve off.
